Jeffrey Alan Freitas (1957-2020)
Jeff passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2020. Born on March 30, 1957, Jeff grew up in a large Portuguese farming family near the Easton community just south of Fresno. He graduated from Washington Union High School in 1975, where he played trumpet in the marching band. Jeff also played football for a time. He was a Ford Motor Company ASSET certified auto mechanic, and for several years sold resort properties in Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee. In 1996, he graduated with high honors from Fresno City College, earning the prestigious Dean’s Medallion from the Technical and Industrial Division. He later founded Ribs & Tips, a barbeque catering business that became a go-to for corporate and family events across the Fresno area.
Jeff was a beloved and active member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Anthony of Padua Church where he served as an usher and greeter. Jeff was also active in the St. Anthony Club of Easton, at one time serving as its President.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Frank.
He is survived by his loving mother, Beverly, three sisters (Cheryl, Deborah, and Pamela), four brothers (Michael, John, Mark, and Paul), many nieces, nephews, and other family, as well as his beloved brother knights and many friends.
Visitation will be at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Fresno on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 10 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Fresno, CA
Inurnment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Fresno, CA
