Mr James Leslie Carnahan

James “Jim” L. Carnahan was born on December 16, 1943 in Twin Falls, ID and passed away on May 12, 2019 in Fresno, CA at the age of 75.

Jim graduated from Pocatello High School in 1962; then attended Colorado State University, and later served in the United States Air Force. After moving to California in the late 1960’s Jim worked in Yosemite National Park, and then later for Safeway Supermarkets for 17 years. After going back to school at Fresno State University, Jim earned a Bachelor degree and worked in education until his retirement.

An avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed skiing, hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping with his family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing during his early years in Idaho, and Colorado.  He carried that love with him to California where he enjoyed the Sierra Nevada’s including Yosemite National Park and Courtright Reservoir.  He will be greatly missed and his memory will live on through his loved ones.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Rothrock Carnahan and his father, James Robert Carnahan. He is survived by his son, Scott, his wife June and their daughter’s, Lily & Wren; son David and his wife Sandra; and daughter Amy and her husband, Ryan Cook; as well as three sisters, Judy Miller, Kris Cardenas, Keri Moore and their families.

A private inurnment will be held.
