Hugh Alan Rathbun

Hugh passed away peacefully on Monday October 29, 2018 at his home in Fresno, CA.

Hugh Alan Rathbun was born on September 17, 1949 in Salinas, CA to Richard R. Rathbun and Roberta A. Rathbun.  He was raised in Salinas, CA and attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where Hugh received his Bachelors of Science in Soil Science.  After Cal Poly he became a Soil Scientist serving in the Central Valley for over 47 years, primarily with Dellavalle Laboratory as the companies CEO and President. 

Hugh is survived by his wife Susan I. Humpal of 45 years; his sons, Michael and his wife Lauren, Christopher and his wife Kelly and grandson Lucas.  He is also survived by his sister Cindy Lumsden and her children Julie, Bruce and his wife Rebecca. 

Hugh was a devoted, loving husband and father.  He loved traveling to Kauai, HI, Portland, OR, San Diego, CA and the islands of French Polynesia. 

Private services with family will be held in Salinas, CA.
