Goldie Corrine Lorenz

Goldie Lorenz, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in Fresno, Ca. Goldie was born on June 16, 1934 in Oklahoma to Oscar and Rettie Seabury Richardson. She has been a resident of Madera for over 65 years. Goldie was known by many through her 50 plus years of waitressing, at The Village Restaurant and Farnesi’s Restaurant here in Madera. She loved gambling at Table Mountain Casino, watching The Waltons and M*A*S*H. She also loved spending time with her family playing card games and listening to country music.

Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ed Lorenz, brothers Theo Richardson and Norwood Richardson, and sisters Naomi Marcum and Sarah Totton.

Goldie is survived by her two sons Donnie Simpson of Texas and Dave Simpson of Madera, two daughters Marilyn and her husband Jim Ervin of Idaho and Patricia and her husband Richard Van Horn of Madera, and sister Sylvia Simpson of Arkansas. Goldie also leaves behind her beloved three grandchildren Ron and his wife Tammy O’Rourke of Idaho, Brandi Van Horn of Madera, and Arron Van Horn of Elk Grove. Also two great-grandchildren Nathaniel O’Rourke and Zachary O’Rourke both of Idaho.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jay Chapel in Madera.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Jay Chapel in Madera.
