Glenn Raymond “Poppo” Sanderson, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the age of 88 years.
Glenn a native of Iowa was a resident of Madera for 84 years where he graduated from Madera High School with the Class of 1948. Glenn later served in the U.S. Army seeing duty in Korean. Returning to Madera following his military service he later had a career with Baltimore Air Coil where he retired in 1995. In the community Glenn was an active member of The Sunset Avenue Church of Christ, V.F.W. Post 1981 and was very supportive of The Little League and Babe Ruth baseball programs. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their baseball, football and gymnastics events.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Melba Jo Sanderson in 2005, by his son Jeff Sanderson, and by his great granddaughter Kiley Spraggins.
Glenn is survived by his daughter, Glenda Hibbard and her husband John of South Portland, Maine, by his grandchildren, Coleen Spraggins, Jonathan Hibbard, Janene Dorr, JayCee Sanderson, and by his great grandchildren, Johnathan Spraggins, Skyla Spraggins, Connor Dorr, Mackinze Dorr, Paige Dorr, Madeline Hibbard, Hailey Hibbard.
A Memorial Service for Glenn will be on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11 AM at The Sunset Avenue Church of Christ in Madera. Private interment will be at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
