Gary Wayne Walker, 57, well known member of the North Fork Rancheria passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in a Clovis Hospital. Gary was born in Madera, California to Herman Walker and Lois Chepo Walker. A man of many facets, he was former Tribal Chairman for the North Fork Rancheria Tribe, proud of his Native American heritage. He was a heavy equipment operator in construction for 25 years and addition to raising cattle. Gary was a very personable person who never met a stranger and was always running into friends wherever he went. In his leisure time, Gary could be, found riding his motorcycle. Gary enjoyed the outdoors especially Yosemite Valley, and fishing in mountain streams. An avid 49’s fan and a NASCAR enthusiast. He was always on the sidelines watching his girls and granddaughters play ball.
Gary was preceded in death by his father Herman Walker, a brother Kevin Walker and a sister Kelly Marshall.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Tonya Walker, his five daughters, Dabnee Walker, Kristi Mikecell and her husband Jeremy, Maegan Walker, Ahbree Walker, and Tonya Stalter and her husband Denver. He is the brother of David Hensley and his wife Tammy and Lisa Dow and her husband Tom. He is the beloved grandfather of Kaelahnee, Makynna, Inabelle, and Jace.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 11 AM at the North Fork Cemetery in North Fork, California.
