Mr Frank Morris Capelli

Frank Morris Capelli was born January 1, 1940. He died peacefully in his sleep at home on June
29, 2022 at age 82.

He is survived by Ronelle, his wife of 61 years, and their daughter Linda Watkins and son-in-law
Gregory of Clovis. He is also survived by grandson Nicholas Watkins of Austin, TX; and siblings
Lucille Laack of Camarillo and Stephen Capelli of Clovis and their spouses. His death is mourned
by many more family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Antonio
and Mary and grandson Spenser Watkins.

Underneath that cowboy hat was a man of solid stature whose confident stride and wide smile
made his gentle presence known. His family respected and appreciated his humility, sense of
humor and especially his work ethic. These qualities were instilled in him by his father and
uncle while growing up working on the family ranch, where he learned many practical skills.
His Catholic family, upbringing and education nurtured his deep love for his savior Jesus Christ
and a profound love and respect for the outdoors, nature and animals. The care he provided
the land and creatures great and small was a testament to the reverence he had for God’s
creations.

He worked as a machinist for 30 years, and during that time he purchased 20 acres of farmland
close by to where he was raised. There, with the help of his father and uncle, he ventured into
planting a vineyard and produced raisins. In his free time, Frank enjoyed competitive trap
shooting with the Fresno Gun Club, activities with the 4C’s Cutting Club including cutting horse
competitions.

Frank was an equally endearing friend to many and found joy in keeping up with them, meeting
for coffee, visiting the sales yard and often carrying on a practice of his father by making
impromptu phone calls to check in on folks. These calls often included lively conversations,
some storytelling and certainly the sprinkling of Italian words throughout. Those who knew and
loved Frank probably felt his name was befitting because he was known for being candid and
telling it like he saw it.

And his love of his family, faith and friends was as abundant as his bountiful garden crops. He
always planted and harvested far more than he could use so he could graciously share his
Italian peppers, tomatoes, oranges, grapes and garlic with others who anticipated these garden
gifts every year.

"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where
there is injury, pardon; where there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where there
is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.

"O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be
understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in
pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life." Amen.
