Frank Perales

Frank Perales, age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 in Madera. Frank was born on September 20, 1928 in Canutillo, Texas to Melquiades and Filogonia Perales. He was a resident of Madera for 55 years.

Frank worked as an insurance agent and Car Salesman. However, he became a licensed barber and had his own business, Frank’s Barber Shop, from which he retired.
Frank loved soccer and played as a teenager and adult. He also coached for many years through the recreation dept., local San Joaquin Valley league and various high schools in the valley. He coached both boys and girls teams. He also loved to run two to five miles for exercise and ran in many local charity runs. Frank and his wife, Dolores, loved to travel and went on many cruises, which included Alaska, Mexico cruise, Canada, as well as many vacations in Hawaii.

Even though Frank was retired, he volunteered at his son's, Manuel, restaurants as they prepared to open and once opened he continued to work with maintenance. He liked staying busy working on plumbing, sprinkler systems, gardening and any other needs.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Frank Perales Jr. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dolores of Madera and his children Yolanda and her husband Leonard Torres of Madera, Manuel and his wife Connie of Fresno, Tony Perales, Yolanda Burruss and her husband Kenny of Illinois; as well as his 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

Many have expressed the love they have for Frank and that he was a good, kind man. Even the employees at the restaurants called him dad or grandpa. He will be missed.

A private graveside burial will take place at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera
