Mr Frank J. Mendez

Frank J. Mendez was born in Livingston, California to the late Rosendo and Cayetana Mendez, who immigrated from Churintzio, Mexico.

Frank was a loving husband and loved to travel with his wife and take her out to breakfast. Ever the devoted father, Frank would drop everything to make a repair or teach them something new and interesting.  Frank loved his grandchildren immensely and enjoyed reading to them, teaching them Spanish, and frying them papitas.  An insatiably curious student of life, Frank loved to read books about World War II and real estate, enjoyed woodworking and photography and knew that there was always something to be learned from everyone.  He studied at Brooks College.  Frank worked for PG&E for over 20 years and helped start the Hispanic Employees Association at PG&E.

He is survived by his charismatic wife of 50 years, Gloria Mendez; daughters Margarita Matoian and Monica Mendez; his siblings Rosendo Mendez, Javier Mendez, and Aurora Mendez; and 4 grandchildren Zoe, Lula, and Suki Matoian, and Mateo Cleeland.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 10:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fresno.
