Our beloved Francisca Diaz, age 54 passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2017 at her home in Madera surrounded by her husband, mother, children, brothers and sisters. Francisca was born on July 4, 1963, in Fresno, CA to Pablo and Helen Valenzuela.

Francisca, also known as Shona by her close friends and family, enjoyed the beach, gardening with her husband David and spending time with all of her children and grandchildren. She worked for Mendota Unified School District for 25 years as a custodian.

Shona also loved to go motorcycle riding with David. Every anniversary Shona and David would go on a motorcycle ride to places like Carson City, San Diego and Virginia City. One of their favorite places to ride to was Moss Landing, where they enjoyed spending time and celebrating another milestone of marriage together. 

Francisca is survived by her husband, David Diaz, one son, Porfirio Diaz, four daughters, Delia Diaz, Jessica Diaz, Ellena Diaz, and Marcella Diaz and seventeen grandchildren. Francisca is also survived by her mother, Helen Valenzuela, Sisters, Erica and Pam and brothers, Paul, Steve, Joe and Chad Valenzuela.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Jay Chapel, Madera, CA.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joachim Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 A.M. also at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Madera, CA

Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Fresno, CA
