Eustasio Mendoza Jr., age 37, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 15, 2020 in Fresno, California. Eustasio, better known as “JR”, was born in Madera, Ca on July 24, 1982 to Gloria and Eustasio Mendoza Sr. JR worked for many years as a farm laborer, which he truly enjoyed, and he was a member of New Harvest Church in Madera.
JR had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, rap, and dance whenever he could. He was also known for all his good jokes and punchlines he would tell to his family and friends. He was truly the life of the party.
JR was preceded in death by his God Mother Frances Lupe Rodriguez, his Aunt Adela Martinez and his four Uncles: Louie Martinez, Oscar Martinez, Jimmy Martinez and Joe Martinez.
JR is survived by his parents Gloria and Eustasio Mendoza Sr. of Madera, his sisters Mary Lou and her husband Richard Sandoval of Madera and Victoria and her husband Freddie Vela of Madera, his brother JJ Mendoza of Madera, his girlfriend Andrea del Carmen Avila of Madera, his step children Evangelina, Monica and Alonso of Madera, as well as numerous cousins. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Gypsie, Joseph, Richie, Roman, Mia Lola, Ivan, Nevaeh, Anaiah “Rose Bud”, Anjali “Ducky”, Davina, Camilia, and Jesse James “Little J”, and they all referred to him as the crazy uncle or goofball. He was also known by his friends’ children as “Tio”, and was proud of them all.
A Private Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM at New Harvest Church in Madera, and all are welcome to view the service via Facebook live from their home. Following the conclusion of the service, there will be public visitation until 2:00 PM at New Harvest Church. We ask that you please follow the direction of the church ushers as they will be implementing the 10 person limit while making sure everyone has an opportunity to pay their last respects. Services will conclude at the church.
