Esther Marie Vega, age 57, a native of Madera passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017. Esther was born on February 25, 1960 in St. Helena, CA.

Esther always had a passion for helping others, especially children. In her early years, Esther studied nursing and went on to work with special needs children at the Madera County Office of Education Gould Center for 10 years, before retiring as a homemaker.

Besides having a heart for children, Esther had a huge passion for cats, especially Buffa. Esther enjoyed traveling with her family, going camping and family get togethers. Everyone would refer to her as “Queen Esther” or “Mom”.

Her personality left a huge impact on everyone she encountered with her humor and even her beautiful smile. No one can or will forget the sweet sound of her laughter.

Esther is preceded in death by her parents Ignacio Rodriguez and Sarah Osuna, as well as her sister Esther Rodriguez.

Esther leaves behind her husband of 39 years, Richard Vega and her three children, Richard Vega, Michael Vega, and Monica Vega and her fiancé Agustin Anaya. Esther was blessed with four grandchildren, Kassandra Garcia, Zariah Vega, Elyse Anaya and Kaylee Anaya. She is also survived by her four sisters, Frances and her husband Albert Bustos of Madera, Cynthia Ramirez of San Jose, Carmen and her husband Leonard Perez of Madera and Kathy Rodriguez of Madera, along with her three brothers, Guillermo Rodriguez of Madera, Edward and his wife Patricia Rodriguez of Madera and Richard Rodriguez. Esther also leaves behind 13 nieces and nephews, 18 great-nieces and nephews and 3 great-great-nieces and nephew.

An Evening Service will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 5:00 P.M. at Jay Chapel in Madera. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Jay Chapel. Entombment immediately following at Arbor Vitae Mausoleum in Madera.
