Ms Emily Renee McDougald

March 17, 2000 ~ January 5, 2018 (age 17) 17 Years Old
EMILY R. MCDOUGALD

Emily Renee McDougald was born on March 17, 2000 in Clovis, CA and passed away at home on Friday, January 5 at the age of 17. She grew up in O'Neals, CA and was a senior at Minarets High School and the president of Spring Valley 4-H. Emily was preceded in death by her grandfather, Jim McDougald and her uncle, David McDougald.

From an adorable red-headed baby born on St. Patrick's Day, Emily grew into a beautiful, creative, talented, kind, and hard-working young woman.

Emily loved her friends. She was an affectionate and loyal friend, daughter, sister, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, niece, and cousin. Her kind and generous spirit was recognized by all, and she was especially adored by animals and her young cousins.

Emily was active in 4-H for ten years where she excelled at shooting sports and loved her goats and arts and crafts projects. She adored all animals, especially dogs, and she had a special place in her heart for Frankie the bearded dragon, who often traveled around with her.

Emily enjoyed being outdoors and was a hard worker, whether it was on one of her 4-H projects or helping her Dad build fence and grade roads. She loved the ocean and had an eye for nature photography. She was one of the youngest members of the Madera Camera Club.

She was a voracious reader and loved books by Stephen King, always preferring real books to electronic devices. She loved music, especially classic rock and metal and was looking forward to collecting vinyl to play on her new turntable.

Emily is survived by her parents, Steven and Tammy; her sister, Kari; grandparents, Ed and Jan Armbruster and Steven and Pauline Emmert; great-grandmothers, Betty Fearn and Lou Emmert; aunts and uncles, Michele and Mark McDonald, Amy and David Cadanazzi, Cristin and Jerett Toschi, and Wyatt and Marlea Emmert; cousins, Maddie McDonald, Vivian Cadanazzi, Taylor Toschi, Reagan Toschi, Zayleah Evans, Elizabeth Emmert, Belle Emmert, and Charlie Emmert.

A memorial service will be held on January 18, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Jay Chapel in Madera with a reception to follow.
