Elizabeth Ann Collins

Elizabeth “Ann” Collins, age 78, passed away peacefully at her Madera home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. Ann was born on December 28, 1940 in Arkansas to Olin and Delia (Haney) Cheek. The family moved to California when she was a child. After a brief courtship, she married Robbie Collins in December of 1961. In her earlier years of marriage, Ann was a member of the Charlie Brown All-Star Women’s Softball Team. Later on she as an active member of the Emblem Club. Ann worked for over 25 years as a Secretary for the Madera County Office of Education. Ann was also a long time member of the Madera Baptist Church. Ann and Robbie farmed for over 35 years before his passing in 2009. Prior to farming, they owned the Honda Shop in Madera and were members of the Madera Braves Motorcycle Club, where they enjoyed hosting the annual “Play Days” event. After her retirement in 2002, Ann enjoyed many wonderful adventures with Robbie on their motorcycle exploring new sites. Ann loved to help with many activities at the Madera Baptist Church, especially the Bible Studies and Women’s Group Activities. In later years, she loved to play Dominos with her friends from Church.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 47 years, Robbie F. Collins, her three brothers Delbert Cheek, Jerry Cheek and Terry Cheek, and her Daughter-in-law Stacie Collins.

Ann is survived by her two sons Brett Collins of Madera and Benton Collins of Visalia, her daughter Brooke and her husband Bryan Bohall of Madera, and her sister Wanda Goossen of Reedley. Ann also leaves behind her precious nine grandchildren Bailey and her husband Joe Campos, Shelby Collins, Makenzie Collins, Avery Collins, Robin Bohall, Garrett Bohall, Wyatt Bohall, William Bohall and Sarah Bohall.

Remembrances may be made in Ann’s honor to the Madera Baptist Church Building Fund, 13234 State Blvd., Madera, Ca 93637.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jay Chapel in Madera.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Jay Chapel in Madera. Interment immediately following at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
