Elisa Mendez De Vaca, age 76, passed away on Sunday, July 23rd, 2017 in Madera, Ca. Elisa was born in Mexico to her parents Elias Mendez Sepulveda and Ignacia Garibay Pimentel on September 24, 1940. Elisa has been a resident of Madera for over 2 years, and previously lived in Fresno for over 10 years. Elisa was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church. She was a housewife and loved raising her nine children. Elisa also cared for and helped raise her many grandchildren. Elisa loved to crochet and cook before her illness prevented her from doing so, but above all else she loved to spend her time with her loving family.

Elisa is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Luis Vaca, and her son Angel Vaca.

Elisa is survived by her 9 children: Eduardo and his wife Maria Vaca of Illinois, Manuel and his wife Aurora Vaca of Madera, Luis and his wife Guadalupe Vaca of Madera, Ernesto and his wife Lorena Vaca of Tracy, Laura and her husband Alvaro Cazares of Illinois, Jesus Vaca of Fresno, Imelda and her husband Jose Mendez of Georgia, Olga and her husband Daniel Perez of Madera, and Heriberto Vaca and his fiancé Yerania Jimenez of Pleasanton. Elisa also leaves behind her six brothers and 5 sisters, as well as her 32 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Elisa will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Jay Chapel, Madera, CA. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 11:00 AM at Jay Chapel in Madera.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm at St, Joachim Catholic Church in Madera. Interment immediately following at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
