Mrs Lorraine Russell

On the autumn afternoon of October 10, 2020, Eleanor Lorraine Russell took her final breath. She is finally at rest, and rejoined with her love, George Russell, presumably dancing, laughing, and catching up. Lorraine could often be found sitting, with a small crowd around her,
enjoying a hot cup of coffee and conversation. She may not have loved cooking, but she delighted in eating, especially chocolate! In fact, she claims that eating chocolate was the reason she lived such a long, lovely life.

Lorraine spent her youth in Bozeman, MT, before relocating to Texas, and finally settling down in Madera, California. It was in Madera that she met the love of her life, George, and spent their marriage as a loving, supportive wife. After her husband died, she spent many years in child care. While she had no biological children of her own, she was instrumental in raising many others. Lorraine is preceded in death by both parents, one brother, and three sisters.

She is survived by a plethora of cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was also lovingly known as “Grammy” to The Lasswell, Parker, and Foster Families: Pam, Ray, Shea, David, Erin, Megan, Spencer, Johnalyn, Shelby, Marlene, Chandler, Gia, and Archer. They loved her like she was
always theirs, and always will be.

Graveside services will be held on October 16, 2020 at 10:00 am. Services will be brief, and small, due to the ongoing pandemic.
