Doris Peña Ayala Miramontes was born in Texas on September 23, 1935 to her parents Saturnino Ayala and Octavianna Peña Ayala. Her father was offered a job in San Jose, California and the family decided to relocate. In their travels, the family car broke down in Madera, California and the family stayed there and made a home.
Doris grew up in Madera, where she enjoyed spending time with her extended family. She loved taking trips to Yosemite where she enjoyed skiing, as well as spending time with her friends at the local Snow-White's hangout. She later married, moved to Orange County, California and had three children; Patti, Richard and Vance. She attended beauty school in Fullerton, California and worked as a beautician for around 30 years. Doris then relocated back to Madera in the early 80’s and enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters. Doris passed away on April 25, 2020 in Madera, California.
Doris is survived by her two brothers: Juan Ayala and Chava Ayala; her three children: Patti Bova, Richard Miramontes and Vance Miramontes, her five grandchildren: Carleena Gordon, Vance Miramontes Jr., Julio Miramontes, Stephanie Bova and Ashley Bova, as well as four great-grandchildren.
