David Gilbert Gonzales

David “Gobo” Gonzales, age 68, was born on July 24, 1954, in Madera, Ca to Manuel and Petra Gonzales. Dave died peacefully on May 4, 2023 surrounded by his family.

David graduated from Madera High School in 1972, and worked for Madera Glass Plant for over 20 years. 

David was a die-hard Dodgers and Rams fan and enjoyed watching a game whenever possible. He raised his family in Madera and spent his later adult life living in Fresno. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Petra Gonzales, and his sister, Rachel. 

He is survived by his daughter April Lyons (Stacey), his sons David Gonzales, and Brian Gonzales (Ashley). He also leaves behind his 3 grandchildren Jordan Gist, Jordan Lyons, and Zion Gonzales. 

He is also survived by his siblings Peter Gonzales (Rosemary), Edward Gonzales (Gloria), and Gloria Lopez (Jesse), and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Healthcare Center of Fresno for their compassion and patience caring for David over the years. We are sure the squirrels will miss David as well, as he enjoyed sitting outside and feeding them on nice days. 

A Rosary will be held at Jay Chapel on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 10:00 am with a burial at Calvary Cemetery following the Rosary.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Madera Rehab and Nursing Center Activities Department in memory of his mother, Petra Gonzales.
