Darrell Dean Pruett

Darrell passed away on the morning of January 18, 2022 at St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, CA. He was born on March 3, 1939 in Bessie, Oklahoma, son of Richard and Alice Pruett. Darrell was the middle brother of 4 boys, survived by twin brother Donald, sister Artie Godfrey, and proceeded by brothers Jerry, Wayne, sisters Jewel and Pearl Burns.

Darrell graduated from Madera High School Class of 57. After graduation, Darrell enlisted in United States Air Force assigned to the 327th Maintenance Squadron Air Defense Command in Morocco, North Africa and served 4 years. After his military service he was introduced to the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Knight, “Susie”, who survives him. They met on a blind date and after a quick world wind romance, they were married Dec 4, 1965 at the Nazarene Church, Madera, CA. Darrell and Susie celebrated their 56th Anniversary this past December.

Darrell worked at Western Electric Communications for 37 years until his retirement in 2004. His favorite pastimes were annual camping trips with his sons and grandsons. He was especially fond of deep sea fishing with his father in law Edgar Knight and brother in laws Nelson and James Knight, and Ron Preciado. Darrell was an avid golfer, enjoying time on the course with his 3 boys. Darrell was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his 3 sons and their wives. Edward and Delores of Hanford, CA, Rodney and Diana of Visalia, CA, and Thomas and Desiree of Clovis, CA. To include 12 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
