Dana Marie Clancy

On May 5, 2021, Dana Clancy, age 79, passed away early in the morning in her home. Dana was a life-long Madera resident, growing up a stone's throw away from the high school she would later attend. After leaving Madera High School to start a family with her husband, Jesse, she later enjoyed a career in retail where she created lasting friendships with her coworkers from Mode O'Day (later Fashion Crossroads), JC Penney, and Mervyn's.

Dana attended Fourth Street Church of God and avidly supported the church's softball team whenever she could--always with her beloved dog, Lucy, in tow. She loved spending time with the ladies from her Bible study and spoiling her family at every opportunity, often extending her generosity and welcoming spirit to friends of her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered by many in the Madera community for opening the home she shared with Jesse to others on countless occasions, from wedding receptions and graduation parties to holiday barbecues and weekly Sunday dinners.

Dana was preceded in death by her husband, who passed in 2008; her parents, Miner and Helen Sloan; and her great-granddaughter, Cadence.

She is survived by her three children, Bryan, Dwight, and Karen, along with their families including seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on May 21, 2021 t at 10:30 am, at Fourth Street Church of God.
