Mr Dan J. Sotelo

Dan J. Sotelo, age 83 passed away on May 26, 2019. He was born to Jesse and Delores Sotelo on January 9, 1936 in Madera, CA.

He attended grammar school through high school in Madera. After high school Dan meet and married his wife of 61 years Frances Fernandes. They had four children, Renei, Danny, Sheridan and Clifton.
Early in his life Dan worked in the water well drilling industry in Madera the Bay area and Los Angeles area.

After their children became school age they moved back to Madera where he worked for United Vintners Winery as a maintenance mechanic. Later he would become union shop steward. He would leave the winery to become the Business Agent for Winery Workers Union Local 45. After semi-retiring Dan would work with his Son-in-Law Rick Horner in his water well drilling business Horner & Sons.
Dan loved to cook and eat. If you came to his house at any mealtime you got feed. His favorite was Breakfast and Mexican food.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James, sister Irene and brother-in-laws Billy Fernandes, Tom Schoenman and Brooks Pfister.

Dan is survived by his wife Frances, his daughter Renei Horner and husband Rick of Madera, son Danny of Texas, daughter Sheridan Kerby of Fresno and son Clifton and wife Nena of Madera.
Brothers Fred of California and Arthur and wife Ozelle of North Carolina, Sisters Elsie Pfister and Marlene Schoenman all of California. Brother-in-laws Anthony Fernandes and wife Gina of Fresno, Jerry Fernandes of Washington. Sister-in-law Naomi Williams and husband Tom of Florida and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Grandchildren Ira Horner and wife Melissa, Adam Horner and wife Lauren of Madera, Danny Dean Sotelo and wife Michelle of Arizona, Elizabeth Sotelo of Texas, Kandice Cobb and husband Matthew of Fresno and Matthew Lind of Madera.
Great-grand children Preston and Tristan Horner, Sarah Navarro, Brooklyn Sotelo, Azrael and Loki Cobb, Kaylene and Madelin Lind.

A private service will be held on Friday June 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the pavilion at Arbor Vitae Cemetery.
