Connie Martinez, age 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 13, 2017 surrounded by her family. Connie was born in Laredo, Texas to Guadalupe and Guadalupe Suarez, and has lived in Madera for the past 56 years. Connie was an active member of the United Apostolic church located in Calwa, California. Connie was a soldier of faith. Despite all of life’s trials and tribulations, her faith never faltered.

Connie was the precious matriarch of her family. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest blessings. Connie enjoyed many hobbies and had a multitude of cherished friendships.
Connie would express her joy and love for cooking through preparing meals for her loved ones.
In her younger years, she could be found sitting at the kitchen table sewing clothes in her spare time.

Connie is preceded in death by her son Mauricio Martinez Jr., her parents Guadalupe and
Guadalupe Suarez, her brothers Henry Suarez, Alejandro Suarez, Valentine Suarez, Arturo Suarez, Manuel Suarez, and her sister Josefina Mendez.

Connie is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Mauricio Martinez, her two sons Rolando
Martinez and family of Clovis, Rene and his wife Lorraine Martinez of Madera, her two daughters Maribel Elsa Martinez of Madera, and Valarie and her husband Robert Baez of
Madera, her four brothers: Jesus and his wife Lorraine Suarez of Texas, Lorenzo Suarez of
Madera, Guadalupe and his wife Elvira Suarez of Madera, and Joe and his wife Martha Suarez of Madera, and her two sisters: Becky Coronado of Madera, and Mary and her husband Gilbert Pena of Madera. Connie also leaves behind her most precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved dearly.

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 7:00 PM at Madera Grace Tabernacle in
Madera.
