Clarence Hendrix

Clarence Hendrix 71, peacefully went home to be with his lord and savior, Jesus Christ, on January 12, 2022. He was born October 4, 1950 in Merced to John and Bernice Bishop Hendrix. He grew up in Fairmead, CA where he attended local schools and graduated from Chowchilla High School. He also attended Job Corp.

He started his work history as a young boy milking a neighbor’s cow before school. He worked on ranches tending grapes and running work crews. Later he worked in cotton gins and factories. He also had his own lawn service/clean up and hauling business. Clarence was a black belt in Karate and taught at his own schools in Chowchilla and Madera. He loved the Lord and over the years he attended Sunrise COGIC where he was an armor bearer and taught Sunday school. Later he joined Ebenezer Apostolic Christian Center where he attended until his death.

Clarence was survived by his wife of 22 years, Beverly Hendrix, children Delano Hendrix and his wife Corinna, Ayanna Bailey and her husband Brian, Yvonne Milburn and her husband Roy, Lorraine Nieto, and Clarence Hendrix Jr., 22 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Step children Kim Bryant and husband Derrick, Deanna Fequiere and husband Eddie, Stephanie Johnson, Nandi Lewis and husband Kirk Sr., Raylene Charlton, Monica Simmons, 20 step grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Jay Chapel on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 11:00 am.

Services will conclude at Jay Chapel.
