Christina Castro

Christina “Chris” Castro, age 68, passed away peacefully at her Madera home on Monday, February 4, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Chris was born on December 24, 1950 in Madera, Ca to Abraham and Sally Osuna. Chris attended and graduated from Madera High, and worked for over 33 years as a Seller Coordinator for Mission Bell Winery. Chris was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, painting, and cooking for everyone when she had everyone over at her home. Chris was a shabby chicer and antiquer, who loved finding great pieces to put in her home. Chris also loved being in charge and telling her husband Bobby what to do. Chris and Bobby’s relationship started over 30 years ago when, as she would always say, the cutest one in the room gave her a peach.

Chris is preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers David Osuna and Ronald T. Osuna, and her sister Gloria Perez.

Chris is survived by her husband Robert “Bobby” Castro, her son Jeremy Johnson of North Fork, her daughter Leticia and her husband Michael Motz of Madera, and her two step-daughters Adrian Castro of Fresno and Annette and her husband Jim Sawyer of Bishop. Chris also leaves behind her sister Olivia Osuna of Madera, her nine grandchildren: Wesley Johnson, Michaela Motz, Michael Motz, Zachary Castro, Alfredo Avila, Alyce Swisher, Andrew Avila, Jimi Sawyer, and Bailey Bowlds, and her seven great-grandchildren: Mason Motz, Ashton Avila, Miles Avila, Ezequiel Avila, Lea Avila, Luke Swisher, and Emaree Bowlds.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Madera. Inturnment immediately following at Calvary Cemetery in Madera.
