Cheryl Francine Burns

Everett Lewis Burns, 75, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 and Cheryl Francine Sciacqua Burns, 70, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021. They were married November 10, 1966 in Fresno, CA and later sealed for all eternity, in the Oakland California Temple.

They were blessed to be the parents of and are survived by Ingrid Henderson and her husband Bob of Visalia, CA; Jeffrey Burns and Jared Burns of Madera, CA; Heather Matik and her husband Darren of Springville, CA; and Bryan Burns and his wife Christina of Las Vegas, NV. They have 13 grandchildren. Lyndsi Cerkueira, Riley Henderson, Kaylie Rosales, Westley Henderson, Geneva Burns, Ava Matik, Elle Matik, Ezra Matik, Colin Matik, Kathryn Burns, Emily Burns, Joseph Burns, and Robyn Burns. They also have two great-granddaughters, Kalaya Cerkueira and Laylani Cerkueira.

They are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Madera 2nd Ward. Both attended Madera High School. Cheryl and Everett enjoyed Family History research and helping others find their families. One of their favorite pastimes was camping and spending time in the beautiful mountains.

Cheryl worked in the Finance Department for the City of Madera for 30 years, until her retirement. Everett was the owner of Madera Screen and Door. They both had a passion for music. Each of them loved singing while Everett also played guitar and Cheryl keyboards. They started a number of local bands during their lives in Madera. Everett leaves behind a sister, Barbara Van Buren and her husband Jim of Madera, CA. Cheryl is survived by her brother Duane Sciacqua and his wife Becky of Nashville, TN.

Services for both Cheryl and Everett, will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 1:30 P.M., at The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2112 Sunset Ave., Madera, CA 93637. Burial will follow at Arbor Vitae Cemetery.
