Carlos Manuel Gonzales

Carlos Manuel Gonzales passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, August 27, 2021, in Fresno, California.

Carlos was the youngest child of six born on December 4, 1928 in Monterey, Mexico, to Francisco Gonzalez and Julia Perez. When he was in high school in San Benito, Texas, he started dating his best friend’s (Ramiro) sister, Rosa Munoz. "He served in the United States Army, Infantry Division, during the Korean War from October 1950 through September 1952.   He then served in the Army Reserves from September 1952 through September 1956." During the Army Reserves Carlos married the love of his life Rosa on September 7, 1953.

They had three children together and relocated to Madera, California in 1969. He worked for Oberti Olives for more than 20 years before retiring. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grampi, and Great Grandfather. He enjoyed watching sports, spending time with family and friends, and relaxing under a shady tree in his truck reading the newspaper. He will be greatly missed.

Carlos was preceded in death by his wife Rosa Munoz Gonzales; his three brothers Hilario, Francisco II and Pedro; and his two sisters Luz and Maria.

Carlos is survived by his children Carlos Gonzales of Houston, Texas; Cesar “Anthony” Gonzales and wife Dawn of Madera, California; and Cynthia Gonzales of Madera, California. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Manuel, Noel, Daniel and wife Anne, Samuel, Andrew, Marissa and Brandon along with one great grandson James.

Please join us to celebrate his life at Jay Chapel, 1121 Roberts Avenue, Madera, California 93637. There will be a viewing/visitation on Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 3:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, September 3, 2021. We will meet at Jay Chapel at 11:30 am for the procession to Calvary Cemetery, 28447 Avenue 14, Madera, California 93638, for the graveside service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
