Billy Richard Benedix passed away on Thursday October 17, 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 66.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Anita Benedix; his children Brittney Benedix Jackson & husband Bryce, Beau Benedix, & wife Crystal, and Brooke Benedix & husband Chad; his six grandchildren Brady Jackson, Brogan Jackson, Brynden Jackson, Brigxston Jackson, Paige Benedix & Connor Benedix; sisters Pattie Benedix Pettit & husband Carl and Sharon Benedix Borland, husband Fred & daughter Natalie; and beloved miniature schnauzer Maggie May.
Born in Craig, Colorado on August 31, 1953 he was the son of Irene and Robert Benedix. The family later relocated to El Segundo, CA where Bill would attend El Segundo High. Bill entered the Air Force in 1972, serving for three years before working a career in law enforcement at the Inglewood Police Department and in Madera County. Bill and his wife Anita relocated with their three children to Madera, CA in 1990 where they took residence for 27 years.
Throughout his life, Bill was an avid lover of animals, baseball, reading, New Age Spirituality, cooking, gardening, and music. He will be remembered by his sense of humor and storytelling.
The memorial service will be held on Friday November 8, 2019 at 11:00AM at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera with interment at the Legacy Garden Niches. A reception following the service will be held for family and friends to celebrate Bill’s life and the legacy of stories and love he leaves behind.
