Mrs Betty Martinazzi

Betty Jo Martinazzi, age 76, a native and lifelong resident of Madera County passed away peacefully at her Madera home surrounded by those she loved, on Saturday, November 17, 2018, following a very challenging battle with Alzheimer’s disease.   Betty was the daughter of the late William H. Baker and Lorene McDowell Baker. Betty attended local schools and went on to obtain her cosmetology license and began her career that spanned 35 years as a cosmetologist and the owner of “Beauty Bar None” Salon.  Her talent and her ability to attract other talented stylists enabled her to become the premier salon operator in Madera.  Her employees and customers were her friends and their loyalty was very evident.  The City of Madera no doubt owes her a debt of gratitude for adding beauty to Madera for so many years.  In the community Betty was a member of the Madera Republican Women. 

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a brother Marshall Baker, by a sister Madelyn Baker, and by an infant son.

Betty is survived by her husband of 31 years, Vernon E. Martinazzi,  and by her step-children, Eddie Martinazzi and his wife Susan, Vince Martinazzi, and Susan Vizcarra and her husband George, by her sister-in-law Jane Pitman all of Madera and by her brother David Baker of Chowchilla, Ca.  She was “Grandma Betty” to 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren as well as the favorite aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

One of Betty’s favorite pastimes after retirement was spent at their lake-house at Bass Lake fishing off the dock with Vernon and friends. They also spent many days traveling in the RV and enjoying campfires with close friends. 

Visitation will be on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Jay Chapel in Madera, CA

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018, 10:00 A.M. at Jay Chapel.  

Interment will follow at Chowchilla District Cemetery.
