Ben Latorraca Jr. 95 a native of Los Banos, a former resident of Firebaugh and a resident of Kerman since 1998 passed away at home on January 24, 2022 surrounded by those he loved.
Ben was born to Italian Immigrants Benimino Latorraca Sr. and Giovanna Pernetti Latorraca. Ben grew up in Los Banos where he graduated from Los Banos High School in 1945. Ben is a legend in the Ready – mix concrete material industry in the Central Valley, his career spanned 60 years in the business retiring from Vulcan Materials Triangle Redi-Mix following a very rewarding and satisfying life.
In his leisure time Ben was retired Director of the Los Banos Ducks Unlimited, an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Madera Golf & Country Club and would play at the Madera Muni Golf Course. He attended the Kerman United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his brother Joe who died in the Battle of Bulge, and by his two sisters Minnie and Kay.
Ben is survived by his beloved wife Jean Latorraca of 47 ½ years. He is survived by his children, Richard Latorraca, Joanna Fierro, Kristy Dym and Tami Piumarta. Jean’s children, Drew Baker & Family, Chris Baker and Famil, Artie Baker and family and by his very special family, Ward and Minnie Ellison, Melissa Flores and her children Aiden and Navaeh. Also surviving are 8 grandchldren and a wide circle of friends.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 10 AM at Fresno Memorial Gardens (Whitesbridge & Cornelia Avenues)
Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society.
