Barbara M. Glantz was born February 6, 1929 to Alden and Jessie Potter in Madera. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 in Fresno, CA. Barbara was a lifelong resident of Madera and attended the Fourth Street Church of God.
She attended Pershing Elementary School, was a graduate of Madera Union High Class of 1946 and later graduated from Beauty School in 1949.

Barbara was married on Valentine ’s Day 1950 to Howard, the love of her life, for 43 years. She loved her family, friends and people in general. She and Howard farmed in the Dixieland area until 1988 then made their home in Coarsegold. She was a gifted hostess, baker and seamstress. She enjoyed her family camping trips to Upper Chiquita Creek every year since 1955 along with families of Roy and Wanda Morgan and Bill and Lorraine Ogle. They traveled in their trailers later in life to the east coast and back. She and Howard were able to travel every pass over the Sierra Nevada range from Mexico to Oregon.

She was a bookkeeper and homemaker. She was active in various organizations including Madera Young Homemakers, Home Department, Dixieland PTA, San Joaquin Valley Ninety-Nines, Madera County Sheriff’s Aero Squadron Aux., Flying Farmers, Dance Club, Madera Home Gardeners and Madera Co. Historical Society. She also served on the Madera Airport Advisory Commission. Barbara enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, snow and water skiing, bowling, bridge playing, piano playing and was highly competitive in all games. Barbara was an avid fan and supporter of both the Giants and the 49ers.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Howard, her son Howard, Jr., Sister Wanda Morgan, her Parents, her in-laws Dan and Lillian Glantz and friends Bill and Lorraine Ogle. She is survived by her children Susan and Robert Toschi, Janet and Tim DaSilva, Dan and Blanca Glantz, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Brother-in-Law Roy Morgan, Nieces and Nephews and friend, Joanne Glantz. She also leaves behind a large extended family as well as many dear friends.
The family extends gratitude for every kind and caring heart of Cedar Creek administration, staff, caregivers and her many friends there. Also, we thank Dr. Marion Doe, Dr.Rabia Parveez and the many doctors and nurses at St. Agnes Hospital, Pistoresi Ambulance EMTs and a warm and special thank you to Gift of Grace caregivers and St. Agnes Hospice who tenderly and graciously cared for her in her final days.
