Artemisa Gonzalez Tabarez, age 77, a resident of Madera since 1968 passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 of a sudden illness. Artemisa was born in Mexicali, Mexico to Guadalupe and Esperanza Gonzalez-Veyna. She grew up in Mexico where she received her training as a seamstress and later lived in Southern California before settling in Madera. In Madera she worked in agriculture. She attended The Church of the Living Fountain of Life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Tony Tabarez, by a son Joe Alba and by a sister Raquel Gonzalez.
She is survived by her children Ricardo Alba of Madera, and Irma Alba Rood of Branson, Missouri. She is the sister of Alfredo Gonzalez of Oceanside, Ca, Jose Guadalupe Gonzalez of El Centro, Ca, Griselda Gonzalez Garcia of Madera, Rebecca Gonzalez Salgado, of San Diego, Ca, and Esperanza Hernandez of Paramount, Ca.
She is the beloved grandmother of 15 including Marco Tabarez, Jared Lemus, and Vicky Lemus. Also surviving are numerous Great Grandchildren, including Marcos and Andrew Tabarez and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 16, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM followed by a Funeral service at 2:00 PM at Jay Chapel, Madera, CA
Interment will follow at Arbor Vitae Cemetery.
