Antonio (Tony or Shine) Nicoli Cosentino, 95, died on Monday, October 8, 2018 in Madera, CA from natural causes related to age.

He was born on May 21, 1923, in Gustine, CA to Vincenzo James and Maria Francesca (Frangelli) Cosentino, Italian immigrants who settled in the Central Valley of California. Tony was one of 13 children. He married Arlene Freberg, of Gustine, in 1947. 
 
Tony was a World War II veteran.  He was a member of the United States Navy and served in the Pacific.  He returned home to raise a family and become an entrepreneur for many years, primarily in the men’s wear business in Modesto starting in 1957.  Later he worked at various wineries owned by his son, Mitch. Crystal Valley Cellars in Modesto and Lodi, Cosentino Winery in Yountville and pureCru Winery in Napa. He has endeared himself to 100s in the wine industry in both Napa and Lodi. He was a sportsman and accomplished golfer and member at Turlock Golf and Country Club for several decades as well as Del Rio Country Club and the Sportsmen of Stanislaus in the 60's. He was a talented musician and loved to attend Dixieland events most weekends.  Tony could be found in the garden every day and was always ready to help all the people he worked with, his friends, his sisters, his children and took great pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 


He is survived by his three children, Mitch, Napa, CA, Timothy (Cheryl) Madera, CA and Ann Taylor (Scott) Las Vegas. NV, nine grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Teri Cosentino, Jean Cosentino, and Pauli Streeter Hagen. 


He is preceded in death by his wife Arlene Freberg and her parents, Floyd and Kay Freberg, his parents, and his siblings Pat Cosentino, Nick Cosentino, Sue Cosentino, Henry Cosentino, Rose Casteel, Herman Cosentino, Arthur Cosentino, Alfred Cosentino and Delma Summers.


Services honoring his life will be held on Monday, October 15th at Lakewood Memorial in Hughson, California. The viewing will be at 10:00 am. The funeral service is at 11:00 am with graveside prayer immediately after.
