Antonia Llanes

Antonia Perez Llanes, age 98, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 4, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Matehuala, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and was a resident of Madera for 65 years. Antonia was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church in Madera and loved to pray for her family and friends or for anyone who needed prayer. She was a homemaker for most of her life, and she loved cooking for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Antonia also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and going to the casino.

Antonia was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Ernesto Tristan Llanes, her sons Genaro LLanes and Sylvestre Llanes, her daughter Alicia Llanes and her grandson Tony Martinez.

Antonia is survived by her sons Robert (Bob) Llanes and his wife Gail of Coarsegold, Hilario Llanes and his wife Barbara of Madera, Joaquin (Kino) Llanes and his wife Patty of Fresno, and Gary (Wally) Llanes of Madera, her daughters Juana Llanes, Maria S. Martinez and Ernestina (Tina) Pacho and her husband Mario all of Madera. Antonia is also the grandmother of 31 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

The Llanes family would like to send their deepest appreciation to Dr. Ashraf and the staff at St. Mary’s Hospice for the care they gave to Antonia.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Jay Chapel in Madera.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 12:30 PM at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Madera. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 PM at St. Joachim. Interment immediately following at Calvary Cemetery in Madera.
