Mr Anthony Raymond Cruz

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Anthony Raymond Cruz. Anthony was born on October 3rd, 1970 and went to be with the Lord on August 17th, 2021. Anthony battled a long fight with cancer and was a resident of seven years at Pacific Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

Anthony was proceeded in death by his father, Raymond Cruz, and his mother, Aufrie Mata. The family has comfort knowing he has now returned to his parents in his heavenly journey. 

Anthony is survived by his younger sister, Renee Cruz-Munoz, his wife, Melissa Cruz, step-daughter, Marissa DeLeon, niece, Alyssa Munoz and nephew, Jesse Munoz Jr. 

During his time with us, Anthony enjoyed music. He grew up in Madera and sang in the choir at Madera High, where he was part of the class of 1988. He was also the family’s rock and roll guitar player and loved to sing to his favorite bands. Anthony also enjoyed watching football and baseball.


Anthony followed in his father’s footsteps by working at FoodMaxx for many years. He was able to work at various stores of this store chain which included Fresno and Concord locations.

His sister invites you to celebrate his life at Jay Chapel, 1121 Roberts Avenue, Madera, California 93637. The funeral service will be Friday, September 17th, 2021 at 12pm.
