She was a delightful woman and I'm sorry to hear of her passing.
Beverly and I stopped to see her whenever our travels took us through California. Such wonderful memories . . . picking oranges, Aunt Alta driving us through the almond orchard in her big car, telling us the story of how she and Ray started their farm. She showed me how to cook and eat a fresh artichoke. We brought steaks and cooked them over her almond wood. Mostly we just enjoyed hanging out with her. She was feisty, independent, opinionated - and I loved her.
