“Elsie” Alavina Tulipe Tupou Fulivai Sanft Berry
Was Born on November 24, 1926 on Tonga and passed from this life on Thursday, January 25, 2018 in Madera, California. A resident of Madera for 10 years, she was a former resident of Stockton, California She was a professional Pattern Maker and Designer and had operated Custom Designs in Stockton and also Alvina Style of New Zealand. In Madera she was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Madera 1st Ward. She was passionate about her family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Henry Berry in 2006, daughter, Lottie Hatch, siblings, Desmond Sanft, Adolph Sanft, and Ila Kapelli.
She is survived by her children, Alvina Harford and her husband John of Madera, CA, Bonnie Cearley and her husband Jerry of Stockton, CA, Lynda Haupt of Lockford, CA and Richard Berry and his wife Gail of Temecula, CA. She is the sister of Richard Winters Sanft of Clearwater, FL and Romona Walters of Madera. She is the beloved grandmother of 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on: Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Jay Chapel, Madera
Funeral Service will be on: Friday, February 2, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at The Vail Ranch Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Temecula, CA
Interment to follow at: Greenwood Memorial Park, Interstate 805 & Imperial, San Diego, CA
