In addition to his infectious sense of humor, Alan had an ever-present sense of kindness in his actions and always chose to believe in the inherent good in others.

Alan is survived and missed dearly by his daughter and daughter-in-law Bianca N. Roe and Yumiko Suzuki Canton, sons and son-in-law Michael A. Canton, Noah H. Canton, Peter W. Canton, and Jonathan D. Roe, his siblings Peter J. Canton, Paul Canton, Elizabeth F. Canton, and Katherine Cusick, many nieces and nephews, and his loving dog, Josh.
