Hortencia Diaz Vargas

Hortencia D. Vargas, 93, of Madera, California passed away unexpectedly at Saint Agnes hospital on May 19, 2023. Hortencia was born on November 15, 1929 in Calipatria, California to Frances Ramirez and Manuel Diaz. Hortenica was a loving mom, sister, and grandmother. Hortencia is survived by her 9 children; Renee Vargas, Frances Diaz, Blanche Martinez, Marian Cortinas, Sylvia Lopez, Jessica Fitch, Gus Trujillo, Jimmy Trujillo, Mike Trujillo, many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Grace, Jessie, Emily, George and Lawrence. We will always remember Hortencias legacy as being a loving, caring, and thoughtful woman whos memory will be cherished for the rest of our lives. May her soul rest in paradise.

Visitation will be held at Jay Chapel 1121 Roberts Ave Madera CA 93637 on Tuesday May 30, 2023 from 10:00-2:00pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 31, 2023 at 10:00am at Jay Chapel, with a graveside and burial to immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery 28447 Ave 14 Madera, CA 93638.
