Hector Edardo Harris, 71, of Madera California, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at Fresno Community Regional Medical Center on July 3, 2022. He was born in Harlingen Texas on September 4, 1950 to Raquel Villareal Juarez and Jose Juarez.
Later in life, his stepfather Marvin Harris adopted him and his name became Hector Harris. Hector married his wife Anne Taylor Harris on November 21, 1989 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Temple in St. George, Utah for all Time and Eternity. Hector is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Madera and served a mission in Spain from 1970 -1972. Over the years, Hector had many callings in the church. He loved to be of service to others. He also served on the City of Madera Civil Service Commission for many years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and writing his own music to sing and loved spending time with his family especially the grand kids and great grand kids.
After retirement, he enjoyed traveling across country to visit family and friends in Michigan and Alabama and everywhere in between.
Surviving are his children Jalon Harris, Chris Harris and Mathew Harris, Stacey Staton and Nichole Dillon Lee as well as 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, 3 siblings Richard Harris, Eloy Harris, Ricky Harris and parents Raquel and Marvin Harris as well as Maria Juarez and sisters Blasita Juarez Lopez and Jessica Juarez Ramirez. Hector is preceded in death by his birth father Jose Juarez, his brother Joseph Harris and his wife Mariann Oldham Harris, and sister, Dilyla Harris.
Memorial services will take place on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 11:00 am in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2112 Sunset Avenue, Madera, CA 93637.
