Charles P. "Chuck" Chitchjian Jr.

Charles P. Chitchjian Jr. better known as “Chuck”, age 71 passed away unexpectedly on March 8, 2023 at his Fresno residence, following a brief illiness. Chuck was born in Fresno to Charles “Charlie” Chitchjian & Madeline Soligan Chitchjian. He attended Fresno schools graduating from Bullard High with the Class of 1969 and later attended Fresno City College. Chuck also served in the California Air National Guard for 6 years. The Chitchjian family were members of St. Paul Armenian Church. Over the years Chuck had worked at the families restaurants that are part of Fresno’s history, The Mar’s Drive, The Carriage House and finally at Charlie’s Restaurant in Sunnyside where he often tended bar. Chuck’s ambition was to be a building contractor and he achieved that goal obtaining his Contractors license, self employed since 1993.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Charles Sr. in 2018 and his mother Madeline just this past December.

Chuck is survived by his sister, Debi Haymond of Balboa Island, Ca, his life partner Amber Trueheart of Fresno, his 2 nephews; Chase Haymond and Blake Haymond and his wife Holly, and by extended family members of the Soligan, Toomajian, and Hovey families.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 2 PM to 6 PM at Jay Chapel in Madera. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Paul Armenian Church (Dakota and First Streets, Fresno) . Interment will follow at Ararat Cemetery.
