Eleuterio C. Lopez Jr. "Steve", passed away peacefully at his home in Fresno California on September 14, 2017 at age 85
Steve was born February 20, 1932 in Westmoreland California. He was raised in Delano by his parents Eleuterio & Pilar along with 9 other siblings, Delores, Joe, Jennie, Gracie, Maryann, Herlinda, Martin, John, and Louis. Steve joined the US Marine Corps in 1950 at the age of 18. Steve served his Country during the Korean War were he was decorated in combat, receiving The Purple Heart. He was a resident of Gilroy from 1976 -1999. Steve and Patty spent the last several years living in Madera. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was the father of 5, grandfather of 11 and great grandfather of 12 children. Steve loved his large family; he loved camping and RV traveling. Steve was very active in Local VFW Post 1981. He loved his fellow "Brothers in Arms"
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Eleuterio & Pilar Lopez, Sister Juana Guadalupe Carsella, Brother Joe Lopez, and Sister Grace Valdivia.
Steve is survived by his loving wife Patty Lou Lopez of Fresno. His children Rory Lopez of New Jersey ,Kim Lopez of Sacramento, Connie Sue Freddy of Arizona, Shawn Lopez of Gilroy and Ricardo Lopez of Morgan Hill, brothers and sisters. Delores Gutierrez of Morgan Hill, Mary Ann Villanueva of Moss Landing, Herlinda Lopez of Gilroy, Martin Lopez of Patterson, John Lopez of Texas and Louis Lopez of San Jose. He also leaves behind his Beautiful grandchildren & great grandchildren.
There will be a viewing on September 28, 2017 at Jay Chapel from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and Rosary from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on September 29, 2017 at 9:30 A.M. at St Joachim Catholic Church, Madera, California
A graveside service will be held on September 29, 2017 at 2:30 P.M. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 W McCabe Road, Santa Nella, California.
Remembrances may be made to Madera V.F.W. Post 1981.2026 N Granada Madera, California 93637.
