Mr Richard Ventura

December 26, 1950 ~ January 9, 2018 (age 67) 67 Years Old

Richard Ventura, a native son of the community of Easton in Fresno County passed away in Miami, Florida on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 following a lengthy battle with renal Failure. Richard was born on December 26, 1950, in Fresno, California, one of 5 children born to John and Mary Brum Ventura. Richard was raised on the family ranch in Easton in the area of Fig and American Avenues where the Ventura Family farmed, and was involved in the many activities of the close knit community. He graduated from Washington Union High School with the class of 1969. Richard attended Fresno City College for two years and then transferred to California State University, Fullerton graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree.

Leaving the rural farm life Richard embarked on a career in Fashion and Design which left his impact on the industry both here in the United States and Europe while living and working there with many achievements and accomplishments over the years. For the last several years Richard has resided in Miami, Florida.

Richard had the same good natured personality that is the trademark of the Ventura Family. He could always be counted on for a good comeback or humorous remark which he probably learned from his father the late Fresno County Supervisor John Ventura, the name sake of the stadium at Washington Union High School in Easton.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his brother John “Jack” Ventura, his sister, Michele Ventura, his brother-in-law Gene Yparrea, his uncle Angelo Ventura, his cousin, Tim Ventura, and his aunt Josie Coito and her husband Joe.

Richard is survived by his sister Arlene Yparrea, his brother Steve Ventura and his wife Janet , and sister-in-law Janice Ventura all of Fresno. Richard is the uncle of Craig Freitas, Debra Markarian and her husband Robert, Chuck Freitas, Rusty Freitas and his wife Dee, Cathy Guaglianone and her husband David, Todd Ventura and his wife Lynette, Chris Ventura and Jennifer Cotta, and was the great uncle of their children. Richard is the nephew of Angie Ventura, Gene and Marge Ventura, and cousin of their children Sharon Motsenbocker, Monte Ventura and Tami Habib and her husband “Junior”. Also surviving Richard are his many extended family members including Auxiliary Bishop David Brum of the Orthodox Diocese of the West, and his loyal “Service Dog” Evie, who was always by his side.
