Lucy Mariscal, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2018 in Madera, surrounded by her family. Lucy was born in Phoenix, Arizona on February 13, 1927 to Arthur and Natalia Rios. Lucy has lived here in Madera for the last 40 years, where she was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church and worked at various agricultural firms as a canner and as a general laborer. Lucy enjoyed sewing and knitting in her spare time, as well as spending time with her family at BBQ’s and camping trips.

Lucy is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Natalia Rios, her three sons Arthur Mariscal, Jerry Mariscal and Johnny Mariscal, her two daughters Gloria Antonio and Norma Espejo, and her four brothers Alex Rios, Billy Rios, Arturo Rios and Manuel Rios.

Lucy is survived by her two sons Frankie and his wife Linda Mariscal of Morgan Hill and Mike Mariscal of Fresno, her daughter Lily and her husband Geronimo Lopez of Madera, her two brothers Joe and his wife Belen Rios of Madera and Domingo and his wife Marylou Rios of Fresno, and her three sisters Anselma Andrade of Fresno, Gloria Rios of Texas, and Socorro and her husband Fred Owens of Chowchilla. Lucy is also survived by her 23 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, and 36 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 2:00PM to 8:00PM at Jay Chapel in Madera.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 12:30PM at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Madera. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00PM at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Madera.
