José de Jesus Rodrigues, 76, of Madera, CA passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Born in Gouveia, Portugal, José was a son of the late Lourdes de Jesus and Joaquim Rodrigues Neto. Immigrated to the US in 1969, he lived in Danbury, CT for 35 years and worked in Quality Control Management. He spent his retirement years in California as a Real Estate Investor. He loved tending to his fruit trees and planting sustainable gardens in the ideal California climate.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Aldina Rodrigues of Madera, CA and his daughter, Elizabeth Carlson of Newtown, CT. Survivors also include brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, January 12, 2018 at St. Joaquim Catholic Church in Madera, CA. Friends are welcome to join the family for Rosary Prayer preceding the Mass at 12:30pm.
