John M. McKee, age 68 and lifelong resident of Madera, CA passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 at his home in Madera. He was a graduate of Madera High School, Class of 1967. He worked for Madera Glass Company on the job change crew and later as a glass bottle maker, for a total of 35 years of service. He had retired in 2006.

   John is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence "Joe" McKee in 1993 and Wilma Joyce McKee in 2013.

   He is survived by his wife, Mikki, of 30 years as well as his children: Johnene McKee Steinberg and her husband Lawrence of Fresno, CA; Jason McKee and his wife Meggan of Madera, CA; and Shawna McKee of Madera, CA. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Madison Steinberg, Aidan Steinberg, Bella McKee, and Samuel McKee as well as his "Little Buddy" Ringo and many extended family and dear friends.

   John was an avid race fan for most of his life, as he could always be found rooting on his favorite sprint car, #50, owned by the late Ron Chaffin. He also enjoyed watching football, especially keeping track of his favorite team, the Indianapolis Colts. John's family and grandchildren were a great source of pride and happiness to him as well. He always loved to spend time with them whether it was watching a television program together, sitting out on the back patio in the sun watching them play, or simply talking to them on the phone to discuss what they were involved in.

   John was a deeply loved husband, father, Papa, and friend to many. He was a very special person that meant a lot to many people. He will truly be missed but never forgotten. May he now and forever walk tall and be always at peace.

Private Family Services were held. Remembrances may be made to Valley Children’s Hospital.
