Joe Orta Jr., age 76, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2017 at his home in Madera after battling cancer. Joe was a lifelong resident of Madera and was a member at St. Joachim Catholic Church. Before his retirement, Joe worked at Baltimore Air Coil as a Sheet Metal Worker for over 20 years. Joe was also a member of the Pan-American Community Center in Madera for over 10 years. One of Joe’s favorite things to do was sing karaoke. He was known for his beautiful singing and frequently visited casinos on karaoke nights. Joe also had a passion for collecting classic cars, whether they ran or not he collected them. Above all else, Joe treasured the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents Joe Orta, Sr. and Lourdes Fernandez, his three sons, Christopher Orta, James Orta and Michael Orta, his brother John Orta, and his sister Gloria Orta.
Joe is survived by his companion of 14 years, Marlene Wall of Madera, his step-son Robert and his wife Arlyn Ramirez of Fresno, his two step-daughters Jessica Ramirez of Fresno, and Traci and her husband Ray Luna of Madera, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Madera.

Interment immediately following at Calvary Cemetery, Madera
