Karleen was born on June 28, 1949 to Jim and Virginia Hall. She is the big sister of Daryl Annett Swing who is 3 years her junior. Karleen was a pretty child with curly brown hair and big brown eyes. She was a model as a child and even had a part as an extra in a movie with Robert Wagner. As a teenager, she had a great love for horses. She learned to ride and took care of the horses by feeding them and cleaning their stalls. She was quite athletic. She loved to swim, water ski and snow ski.

After high school, she attended the University of Santa Clara and later transferred to the University of Riverside where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree majoring in history. After college she left for Europe and traveled to several countries. She stayed for one year. Karleen was able to speak German and learned to speak a little Italian, French and Armenian.

Upon returning from Europe, she settled in the Bay Area where she remained for more than 40 years. She worked as a legal secretary and later became a paralegal with a major law firm in San Francisco.

She loved to learn about her Armenian heritage and was proud of her Armenian roots. While she could, at times, be stubborn and yes, bossy, Karleen loved her family, both immediate and extended, deeply.

She will be sorely missed. Not just today but for many years to come.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Jay Chapel in Madera. Graveside Services will follow at 1:00 pm at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
