Guillermina L Mendez

Guillermina Lopez Mendez was born to Pedro Lopez and Juana Baragan Lopez in La Piedad, Michoacan,, Mexico on September 5, 1929 and passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018 in Fresno, California at the age of 89 years.

Guillermina settled in Madera in 1947 with her husband Vincent Duran Mendez where she was a homemaker and devoted mother to five children. She was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church where she was a former member of the Guadalupana Society of the Parish and in Madera was a member of the CSO (Community Service Organization), and the Pan American Club.

In addition to her parents and two sisters, Micaela L. Vargas and Guadalupe L. Lujan, Guillermina was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Vincent in 2012.

She is survived by her beloved children, her daughter Guadalupe Molina and her husband Tomas of Madera, her four sons, Vincent L. Mendez, Jr. and his wife Mary Ann of Madera, Elias L. Mendez and his wife Christina of Fresno, Paul Mendez and his wife Rowena of South San Francisco, CA, and Peter L. Mendez and his wife Sandra of Fresno, she is the sister-in-law of Eloise Ramos of Manteca, CA, and is the cherished grandmother of Angela Mendez, Lino and Carlos Molina, Tizoc Mendez and Alejandro Mendez.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 2 PM to 5 PM at Jay Chapel in Madera with a Recitation of the Rosary following at 5 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11 AM at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Madera with Interment following at Calvary Cemetery.
