My Dale. When I was a child, you showed your protection over me by teaching me to ride the ponies we were given for Christmas. When you outgrew your pony (the better pony of the two), you gave that steed to me and patiently ensured that I could ride efficiently. You nurtured and encouraged my love of all things equestrian & I am confident that your teachings were developed long before the years you spent working with me.
When I was a bored pre-teen, you took me with you as you played within the walls of the town of Madera. I'll never forget your artistic skills with the many realistic dummies you created for whatever dramatic activities to be acted out during those long, stagnant summer months.
Your friends were many and varied. Everyone wanted to "hang out" with you. Everyone wanted to be invited to your parties; your bonfires; your bike rides.
Many gals wanted to be important in your life and yet, the only woman who made a difference - who made you stop and think - was your mother, Mary Ann. In a world of throwaway women, your mother was the idol who you spent so many hours ensuring her happiness. There was no other. And anyone who thinks differently is an idiot.
Your sisters circled you like an army. Always there to protect and serve your best interests. And as in the beginning, we circled you at the end. Again, protecting your best self, your best interests, your best life.
I'd like to thank the many wonderful people who attended your funeral service, Dale. These folks were the TRUE loving supporters who were always there for you.
As it should be. As it will be. Glory be, to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. Now & forever. Amen.
