Azael Fabian, 47, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 after battling a chronic illness for 10 years. Azael was born in Mexico City to Albertano Fabian and Esther Vera. The family later immigrated to the United States in 1981 and settled in Madera California. Learning English and receiving his education in the Madera School District, Azael was involved in Migrant Education at Madera High School in the Statewide Mini Corps program and part of The California Scholarship Federation while a student. Graduating with the Class of 1989 he went on to receive his Bachelor’s and Teaching Credential at CSU Fresno. While a student at CSU Fresno Azael was an active member of Epsilon Sigma Rho Fraternity. For the last 20 years Azael has taught 2nd,3rd and 4th grades at Lowell Elementary School in the Fresno Unified School District. He mentored Spanish speaking students in the English language and was a soccer coach at Lowell Elementary. His passing leaves a void in the lives of his students.

Azael was preceded in death by his parents Albertano Fabian and Esther Vera and by his brother Rene Fabian. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Manuela Aldaco Fabian, his children Christian Fabian, Jose, Andre, Natalie and Dulce Fabian all of Madera. He is the brother of Angel Fabian and Blanca Fabian both of Madera, and Carlos and Sergio both of Mexico.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 2 to 6 PM at Jay Chapel in Madera. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 1 PM at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Madera. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Madera.
